More about LooLa Resort

LooLa, being an eco-friendly resort, has won several eco rewards as well as customer rewards such as the 2012 winner for Responsible Tourism Awards and 2015 winner for Eco Action Day.

Not only do they care for their guests, they also care for the local community by helping to raise their living standards and the overall socio-economic status of the locality. They interact and engage with the local community very often, in terms of having community building activities to have them involved, especially the life-saving sanitation systems for individual rural households known as Safe Water Gardens.

This “Safe Water Gardens” is actually a project with the objective of eliminating diseases and providing clean water to the local rural households for them to drink and cook with. It started in 2013, and is now utilising a Dutch government grant in order to work towards supplying all the villagers a safe and clean water system within the next few years. Loola Resort has a water filtration system built with the help of Singaporean universities and independent firms, in order to provide safe and clean water in a “green” way.

Not only that, back in late 2014, LooLa also installed a system which collects rainwater at the beach, to recycle it into clean water so that it can be used. It has been a very effective yet simple system which has been used since 2014.

More about the eco-villas that LooLa have, their operations are totally dependent on solar power, especially the air-conditioning system. It is being run by a block of ice which will be frozen during daytime, and then eventually used to provide air conditioning to the villa during nighttime.

We hope to see you there at LooLa Resort, this 14th to 16th June, 2019!
